THE ROSE - BOSTON, MA 7.14.25
Coverage by Maria A. Mata
South Korean indie band The Rose took over MGM Music Hall, turning the theater into a cozy dreamscape for fans to be fully immersed in the experience that is the Once Upon a WRLD Tour.
A soft narration kicked off the evening, with the hum of a train travelling across the room as the lights flickered. The band emerged from the fog, taking their spots for a stripped down acoustic opening. A curtain drop would signal the start of the second act, revealing a warm bedroom scene with a large, fluffy bed taking center stage. It was an invitation into The Rose’s world, and fans responded in kind.
Lead singer Woosung would say a few words, and cheekily asked if there were any boyfriends or husbands in the crowd, against their will — there were, jokingly responding and cheering. The band’s charisma was undeniable, as they interacted with the crowd constantly; from sharing heart-warming stories from their early years, to playfully bickering about how loud New York fans had been in comparison, firing up the room in the best way possible.
The Rose’s sound takes on a different level of sophistication live, seamlessly blending in emotional ballads with anthemic sounds, crafting their energetic brand of rock and roll with the fans’ lively spark. In a sea of confetti and streamers, The Rose gave the audience a magical and certainly unforgettable experience.
